Remember that (Square root of 2)*(square root of 2)=2
You need to multiply out the equation
(3- square root 2) (5 + square root 2)
=(3)(5)+(3)(square root 2)-(5)(square root 2)-(square root 2)(square root 2)
=15+(3)(square root 2)-(5)(square root 2)-2
=13+(3)(square root 2)-(5)(square root 2)
=13-(2)(square root 2)
You need to multiply out the equation
(3- square root 2) (5 + square root 2)
=(3)(5)+(3)(square root 2)-(5)(square root 2)-(square root 2)(square root 2)
=15+(3)(square root 2)-(5)(square root 2)-2
=13+(3)(square root 2)-(5)(square root 2)
=13-(2)(square root 2)
